LiLASH

There is nothing more appealing to me than long lashes. I have always had puny sad lashes that have needed the assistance of lash curlers and mascara to make them look somewhat decent. I have owned a Shu Uemura lash curler ever since I was in junior high and I am pretty sure I have used it almost every day since. When I first heard of lash growth serums I was a little skeptical of the results and possible side effects. However, the temptation lingered until I purchased my first tube of LiLash a couple weeks ago. I had heard about it from a few people and I decided I could no longer wait to have a set of amazingly full lashes. I was on the internet researching LiLash and I noticed they were selling it on Amazon.com for $60.00. The price usually runs for about $140.00. What a score?!? That means I saved $80.00! It was a deal to good to resist. I started it about a week ago but I am supposed to see the results in 4-6 weeks. I checked out some of my concerns online and the company says if you follow instructions there should be no problems. Instead of applying it directly to your lashes you apply it as if your were putting on liquid liner. So now I wait patiently for the lashes I have always dreamed of. I will give an update in a month. Hopefully by then I can throw out my false eyelashes and go o'naturale.

GLO-REDNESS RELIEF POWDER

Even though we are experiencing some June gloom in July summer is here. This is the time of the year we travel, go to the beach, barbecue, go swimming and basically partake in any and every activity you can do alfresco. Something people may not necessarily know is that you can still get sunburned on cloudy days. I always put on sunscreen if I know my skin is going to be exposed to the sun. There are those occasions however where I forget to reapply. I discovered the perfect solution for covering and healing redness that happens when mishaps occur with my sunblock. It's called gloRedness by Glominerals. This powder reduces redness while soothing the skin with ingredients that include honeysuckle, zinc oxide, licorice and caffeine. Glominerals products are talc-free, non-comedogenic and free of perfumes and chemical dyes. Their cosmetic line boasts an advanced combination of antioxidant complex of Vitamins A, C, and E and green tea extract, they provide UV protection and help to defend against free radical damage. They have a wide range of products that include under eye concealer, hydrating mist, lip gloss, shadows, powders, brushes, lengthening mascara and much more. It is always nice to discover cosmetic companies that care about my skin as much as I do.

GloRedness Relief Powder-Available online at www.gloskincare.com for $25.00
This product is ideal for even the most sensitive skin, including conditions such as rosacea, sunburn, acne-flareups, and after advanced chemical and microderm treatments.

DIORSKIN AIRFLASH SRAY FOUNDATION

I got the Dior Airflash foundation a couple weeks ago and I am really liking it. It is easy to use and does a great job of covering your imperfections without looking too caked on. It evens out your skin tone while giving it a luminescent glow. You can apply it in a few different ways. You can spray on your hand and apply it with your fingers, use a sponge, or by spraying it directly on your face. I have tried it all 3 ways. You use less by applying it with your fingers and you can still get great coverage. If you apply it with a sponge you can get the same effect but you end up using more of it. I was a little apprehensive about spraying it directly on my skin. But I closed my eyes and held my breath and sprayed it from my forehead to my chin. I was nervous to see the outcome but when I took a look in the mirror I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. So my final assessment of the product is that it is easy to use and has great coverage. I use it sparingly because I know it will go fast. It was worth the $60.00 but I will make sure to use it on special occasions so that I can hold on to it as long as possible.

*Available at Sephora-$60.00 for 2.3oz

MOROCCANOIL RESTORATIVE HAIR MASK

As you may have read before I have been battling my damaged hair for quite a few months now. Obviously when you change your hair color so frequently there are going to be some consequences. I have heard many good things about Moroccanoil treatments but have yet to purchase any. So on an extremely bad hair day and a moment of disparity and frustration, I went to my local beauty supply. I asked for the best treatment I could use for over processed hair. The lady recommended that I try Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask. She said that it was a protein treatment and that it would be a good way to rebuild the strength of my hair. Well, I have been using it for almost a few weeks now and I have noticed a considerable difference in the texture of my hair. I can air dry it with minimal styling products and it curls on its own. This was something that would have been impossible a few weeks ago. I love it! It has practically saved my hair. I am also back to using my tride and true Frederic Fekkai Glossing shampoo and conditioner. It can be pricey, but it is worth having healthy hair that I don't have to fuss over.

SUMMER BEAUTY IDEAS

Even though we have been experiencing some June gloom, summer is upon us. Of course magazines are sporting the usual fresh-faced models clad in maxi dresses with the same bronzers, bejeweled sandals, and pink glosses. While hunting for some inspiration I came across some trends that were new and exciting. Here are a few gems in the midst of the carbon copy summer trends that we see pushed the same time every year.

FISH
TAIL BRAIDS-Remember when you were younger and your mom used for braid your hair before you left for school? Well if you do, chances are she might have braided your hair into a fishtail(especially if you survived the eighties). If this was one of the hairstyles you coveted as a child, you are in luck. This trend is making a resurgence on the runway and is the perfect way to keep your hair out of your face while looking fashionable.

24 GLIDE-ON EYE PENCILS by URBAN DECAY- $17/each available at sephora.com
These bright and fun eyeliners are supposed to stay put after applied. Instead of applying these colors on top of your eyelid, try it below. Follow the bottom of your eye from corner to corner for an intense effect.

SHU UEMURA FALSE LASHES (LUXE BROWN)- Available at Nordstroms for $20
Nothing is better than a warm summer night. Generally our summer garb calls for a more easygoing makeup regimen. When going out at night you might want a little glamour but without looking too intense. We all know that extra lashes add some umph. You can take it down a notch by using brown false lashes instead of the typical black ones.

MINT CANDY APPLE NAIL POLISH BY ESSIE-Available at essieshop.com for $8.00

When you think of the quintessential summer colors for nail polish you might think of the pinks, reds and corals. Why not try something different? Besides, this color will look great against your summer tan and stands out amongst it's typical summer color competitors.
